Style, beauty and fashion are more popular than ever before. Everywhere you go you see billboards, adverts, glossy images and photo campaigns, all promoting the latest trends and must-have outfits and accessories.

British style

Style has become synonymous with Great Britain. London is one of the world’s fashion capitals and British men and women have an excellent reputation for style across the globe. British designers have also become increasingly popular, with labels such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood all stealing the limelight at fashion events all over the world. The Royal wedding has also put Britain firmly on the map, with millions of people from hundreds of different countries tuning in to catch a glimpse of Kate Middleton’s dress, which was designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.

The British high street is also widely regarded as the best in the world. The high street boasts a huge range of shops and a variety of different styles, from vintage and Boho to romantic and rock. Style tends to change according to where you are in the UK; Northern cities have an eclectic, laid-back, vintage vibe, while cities in the South have a more polished look.

Style and lifestyle

Style is really important for a lot of people. If you love the outfit you’re wearing and you’re happy with the overall appearance, you are more likely to feel confident and this can make a difference in both your social and professional lives. Many people are committed to keeping their finger on the fashion button and they spend hours trawling through the pages of fashion magazines and reading style blogs online. Style and fashion have become integral parts of the modern lifestyle. There is more focus on beauty and fashion than ever before and fashion is more accessible, as high street chains make affordable copies of designer pieces.

Having a sense of style is important for many people. This has become especially important since the rise of celebrity culture, as we are bombarded with images of celebrity style icons and this makes people want to make more effort with their own individual appearance. The most well-known modern style icons include Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, Elle McPherson, Agnes Deyn, Blake Lively and Daisy Lowe.

it is easy to get worn out and utterly depleted of energy. Over time, the day to day stress of running around and working hard for a living does not just leave a person exhausted over time, but also taxes their immune system, and with quick and easy food on the go being less than healthy, people lack good nutrients. Exhaustion, taxed immune systems and poor diet all lead to one thing: susceptibility to illness and injury. And yet people just keep pushing themselves.
However, despite the urge to work as hard as possible, a good doctor who firmly suggests healthier behavior can aid in improving overall health in the patient. In order to find a doctor skilled in both the arts of medicine and persuasion, purchasing health insurance is a good idea. read more

Lifestyle & politics

Author admin    Category Healthy Living     Tags

Politics affects everyone and even people who say they have no interest in politics will probably find themselves getting involved in heated debates when contentious political issues come to the fore. Politics affects everything from the price of a loaf of bread and healthcare provisions to the choice of school for your children and the number of police patrolling the streets.

Why is politics important?

Politics is important because it has a major influence on how we live our lives, the services available to us and the choices we make. Many people assume that politics is boring and say that they have no interest in it because it’s old fashioned and out of touch but politics is ever-present and it is important that people realise the impact politics has on their lives.

Modern politics and lifestyle choices

For many years, politics was associated with images of middle-aged men with privileged backgrounds and most people thought that politicians were out of touch with the ‘real people’. However, in recent years the media has enabled people to get closer to politicians and become more involved in politics. The last election was unique because there were live televised debates, which enabled people to get a clearer understanding of each party’s policies and also allowed people to develop a better idea of the candidates and their approach to politics. The debates attracted a large audience and made politics more accessible to people. 24 hour news channels and the internet also enable people to keep up to date with current affairs and politics.

Politics may not often be linked with lifestyle choices but they are actually closely related. The lifestyle choices people make are not only influenced by politics but they also have an influence on politics. Health is closely related to lifestyle choices; if people make negative lifestyle choices, they are more likely to become ill and this has an effect on expenditure on health services, the kinds of services available to people and also the policies introduced by government ministers.

Drinking has been highlighted as one of the most significant problems facing modern society. Young people are drinking more and more and this is having an effect on their health. Figures also show that drinking is costing the NHS millions of pounds each year. As a result of the figures and research carried out by government departments, policies have been introduced to curb drinking. This includes television advertising campaigns to warn people about the dangers of drinking, policies to discourage binge drinking and policies to increase the cost of alcohol to discourage people from drinking too much.
